FAQ

Is this actually a safe place for queers, kink-identifying & non-monogamous people?

Yes. The practice is explicitly affirmative & inclusive of all identities. I myself am queer, kinky, ENM and gender questioning and I bring that lived experience into the work alongside my clinical training.

Do you accept insurance?

No. Regulated mental healthcare (GGZ) is covered by Dutch basic insurance, but only through a huisarts referral, a DSM-5 diagnosis, and often a waitlist of a month or more. Working with me skips all of that: no referral, no diagnosis required, and sessions are paid directly at the time of your appointment. A limited number of sliding-scale spots are available for those experiencing financial hardship, just mention it when you reach out.

I've never done therapy before, is that okay?

Yes no problem. You don’t need a diagnosis, know what you want or have all the answers. The free introductory consultation is there to help us determine together if this feels like the right fit.

Are you a licensed psychologist?

Not in the Dutch legal sense of "gezondheidszorgpsycholoog" which is a title protected under Wet BIG for professionals registered in the Dutch BIG-register. I have a license in Finland which does not transfer. I am currently in training for the international IOSS sexologist diploma. These are separate from, and do not constitute, BIG registration as a "GZ-psycholoog" and this work is not a substitute for regulated mental healthcare (GGZ) when that's what's needed. If you're unsure what's right for you, this is a good first question to raise together.
